What is your mission?

• Lead the design and implementation of scalable, reliable systems
• Make critical architectural decisions with a bias for simplicity and maintainability
• Own the health and performance of core services
• Review code and enforce high standards through mentoring and pair programming
• Mentor and support engineers through code reviews, pairing, and design discussions
• Identify skills gaps and help grow technical competencies across the team
• Drive continuous improvement in team processes and engineering culture
• Be a multiplier: unblock, enable, and elevate others
• Collaborate with product managers to scope and deliver features on time
• Break down complex problems into executable chunks
• Track technical debt and prioritize long-term engineering investment
• Proactively raise risks and navigate ambiguity during delivery

Who are we looking for?

• 6+ years of hands-on engineering experience, including backend or full-stack work
• Proven experience leading a team or project, formally or informally
• Strong fundamentals in programming, software architecture, testing, and deployment
• Effective communicator who can explain tradeoffs to both engineers and non-technical stakeholders
• Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, evolving environment
  
  Nice to Have
• Experience with
  • (Primary) Python, FastAPI, LlamaIndex, OpenAI APIs, PostgreSQL, Qdrant, React, Next.js
  • (Secondary) GCP, GKE, Kubernetes, Docker, GitLab CI/CD, Prometheus,Grafana, Cloudflare
• Exposure to scaling teams or mentoring junior engineers
• Prior experience with agile, Kanban, or lean product development
